Our Story

Varme Energy is a proud subsidiary of Norwegian based Green Transition Holding

Varme (pronounced Varma) is the Norwegian word for heat and warmth, a tribute to our Norwegian roots.

Our vision is to become a modern energy development company and a bottom-up solution to landfills that will shape the future of waste in Canada. Our business model is to develop, own and operate green infrastructure assets. We see value in being one of the players engaged in the long-term vision toward a decarbonized economy and greener future.

Our parent company leverages over 30 years of experience in the Waste-to-Energy sector and brings to Canada the AITOS Gasification Technology, an in-house proven Advanced Thermal Technology.

Why Alberta?

We are proud to call the City of Edmonton our home and have identified Alberta as a strategic market opportunity for our projects due to the booming carbon capture and sequestration industry here.

Alberta is home to world-class geology with it's ability to store carbon permanently. Globally, the province is a leader in carbon transportation and storage infrastructure development.

Critical to the development of a low-carbon industry is Alberta's deregulated energy market and responsible carbon credit programs; Varme is leveraging this opportunity to 'Complete the Carbon Circle' through landfill waste diversion.
